Shoshone Falls

We headed South from Yellowstone and stayed for 2 nights at a little place called Twin Falls which is actually very nice. The Shoshone tribe are very prevalent here and we went to see the Shoshone Falls and Lake the next day, the Falls were huge! We paid $3 for the privilege which goes to the Tribe. There was a lovely rainbow there which fascinated the kids. Coming back down to the lower levels the weather is a lot warmer, still a little fresh and night but quite pleasant t-shirt weather during the day. Twin Falls’s claim to fame is that Evil Kenevil jumped the canyon that runs through just outside of the city. It’s a lovely canyon and there are actually houses at the bottom of it.

We wanted to get to San Francisco as fast as possible but needed to stop half way as the drive is too long. We found a Passport America camp in Winnemucca, Nevada which is a nothing town of note. Nothing there but cheap casino’s and surprisingly one church amongst it all. All the townsfolk must gamble all week and then go to church on Sunday. There were even pokies in the petrol stations! We stayed here 2 nights but only to give the kids a break from driving. There was a nice pool at the campground so we pretty much hung about that all day. We had no problems saying goodbye to Winnemucca.
